Child Protection

Child Protection is at the center of LACCODE’s work through a systems strengthening approach. LACCODEF works to strengthen the Community Based Child Protection Mechanisms to ensure that the rights of the children in the community are upheld. The child protection systems components include structures and their capacities, laws and ensuring they are known and implemented, coordination efforts amongst actors to strengthen linkages and referrals. LACCODEF’s work supports mapping of community based child protection mechanisms, promoting coordination efforts, supporting linkages, referrals and generally community awareness creation.

LACCODEF works with both formal and non-formal structures and coordinates with different actors to ensure a strengthened community child protection system that is able to prevent, detect and respond in case of violence against children in the community. Supporting survivors to access justice is a key pillar of LACCODEF’s work. The child protection advocacy agenda for LACCODEF is government increased resource allocation towards child protection work.
