Youth skilling with both soft and hard skills is a priority intervention targeting youth both in-school and out of school. The identified youth are first provided with career guidance and counselling skills to be able to make the right choices with regard to the kind hard skills they need to acquire for employment.

The skilling approach takes the shape of technical and vocational skilling both long term and short trainings. The trainings are integrated with soft life skills including adolescent sexual reproductive health and education. The youth are placed for further mentorship and internship to get practical on job skills upon completing the institutional training. This prepares the youth to be work ready and become gainfully employed in non-exploitative work. The youth are supported with start-up tools, capital and inputs coupled with basic business and entrepreneurship skills to kick start their enterprises as they become gainfully employed. This youth skilling model has touched the lives of more than 1500 youth and transformed their lives to become economically independent.
